- JADam - visual scripting for Qt Applications - read more. It it a visual tool and a QML module which allows to easily automate chains of actions in a QML application. Looks like the author intends to open-source it soon, but I can't quite verify that
- Daniel Nicoletti, the guy behind Cutelyst, has created ASql - an asynchronous SQL library for Qt, read more. It's pretty basic now (and only supports Postgre) but looks very promising - finally we can run queries without blocking our threads!
- When you manually include MOC file in .cpp in Qt, like:
#include "some_class.moc"
(we often do this in unit tests), it actually speeds up compilation quite significantly! Read more... - C++20 is just around the corner. Time to learn some of the goodies! Modules, Ranges, Coroutines. Honestly when I look at these, I feel like a newb in C++ :-)
- I have mentioned a huge discussion about future QProperty class and changes to property system in Qt 6. Lars has now summed it all up and implemented an improved version which promises to include all the necessary features while also being lightweight and without major drawbacks. Read more...

- Gitpod is now open source, read more. Not really my area, but it looks like a great tool to help web developers work on bigger projects, when they need to switch between multiple branches and environments often

- Intel is investigating AI-assisted programming. They say the world is lacking developers and increasing number of different hardware chips makes it harder for existing coders to know them all (or at least a useful subset). - Google has introduced a new, dedicated web page for ChromeOS developers. It contains code samples, news, guides etc. to help develop stuff for Chromebooks. - Ha, ha. Ha. Uh. Apparently Google plans to kill Duo and use Meet instead. Even though it was pretty obvious from the start, that they are creating yet-another-service-to-kill-it-later, it's just weird. They keep doing the same thing over and over and over again: they introduce a new communicator, kill the old one, then introduce a new one, kill the previous.
